Eric Van Buskirk is a graduate of Skidmore College, 1988, in New York State where he majored in Psychology.
He received a Masters of Science degree from the Boston University College of Communication, Boston, Massachusetts, in 1997. His concentration was New Media and Marketing.
Internet Partnership, Project, and Marketing Management
From January - July, 2000, he worked at SmartAge.com as a Senior Manager, Partner Marketing. This role entailed managing relationships with partners, including IBM, AT&T, and Lycos.com. Van Buskirk oversaw roll-out strategy and implementation with partners for Web newsletter, banner exchange, and media buying tools used for over one million registered Web site members.
From February 1999 - January 2000 he was Channel Partners Manager for Delphi Forums in Cambridge, MA. He established major partnerships for a Web site company ranked in the top 150 for number of Web site visitors. He produced a Forum with a Fortune 500 company which was a finalist in the Best Online Community category, Massachusetts Interactive Media Council Awards, 1999.
From January 1997 - February 1999 he was the proprietor of Van Buskirk Interactive, Boston, MA. He was the only sole proprietorship accepted for the Solution Partner program with Marketscape, a multimedia software company. He also sold and oversaw interactive media development and consulting services for small businesses.
Operations Management
Van Buskirk was an On-Site Campaign Manager, April 2001 - September 2004, for consulting companies that ran call centers for performing arts organizations.
For two consecutive years he generated the highest revenue in the Joffrey Ballet marketing campaigns' eight year history, an increase of 16% and 31% over previous managers most successful year. He managed a staff of 14 part-time sales representatives.
As on site campaign manager for The Baltimore Symphony for 2003 - 2004, Van Buskirk exceeded the prior year manager's revenue results by 30% and maintained a part time staff which averaged 18 employees.
Revenue and costs for both his employer and clients under the four campaigns Van Buskirk ran were in all cases above goals and projections. He has recruited, hired and trained over 125 employees.
Other Marketing
For the summer of 1993 he was the Interim Advertising Manager for Prognosis Newspaper, Prague, Czech Republic. He oversaw advertising sales for the issue with highest advertising revenue in the paper's three-year history.
From May 1991 - February 1993, Van Buskirk was the Promotions Coordinator for the Boston Phoenix Newspaper, Boston, MA. He created and implemented direct mail, print, and radio sales promotions.
